Alan Smith - Partner - ScotworkAlan is an Economics graduate who after a short spell with a manufacturing FMCG brand on their graduate trainee programme chased the bright lights of London to join the advertising business.

At 28, he became MD of London's largest independent below the line agency, running a business with 200 employees and an enviable list of blue chip clients. At the age of 30, he set up his own through the line agency. He grew this agency over the next decade by both acquisition and by organically setting up a Digital Asset management function.

After 16 years, he then sold this business to Omnicom, in what Alan would class as the toughest negotiation of his life. Following a period of consultancy work in a varied and diverse group of businesses including Aviation and Leisure, Alan joined Scotwork in 2005 and became a Partner in 2010.

Alan's has an unrivalled knowledge of the advertising and marketing profession and he is involved in developing the Scotwork brand strategy across the world.  He co-writes the Scotwork Blog.

He runs marathons, participates in extreme events and rock climbs.
